The "N"word

I hate the "N" Word. I find it offensive yet it seems that everyone uses this as a common noun. Its not just African Americans that use this term it is now coined by everyone at this point. Yes many African Americans use the term in their songs and day to day vocabulary and I understand that. They feel that word is theirs because many years ago slaves were called that and now some African Americans feel that using the word gives them power over it.
In my opinion the power that they seek from this word is weak. It was derogatory then and it should be derogatory now. Am I the only one that finds it awkward and offensive when other races use the term to identify their friends? Hell I find it offensive when black people use it. "But Whitley blacks use it all the time why can't I? says the non black person. Because it was(is) used to hurt people!!! that's why you should not say it, DUH! It should not be used as a common courtesy and sign of respect for one another.
I feel the same way towards homosexual slurs and any other term that is used to degrade people.

Starting Over!

Today marks the day that I start my diet over again. Given today is also the day that I had to get my car jumped for the very first time but I digress. That was a mere moment of anger and a lot of money that I had to put up with today. However, that will not stop my JOY. Anywhore(ya i did that on purpose) I am joining the gym today with my friend Maria so that we can get ready for our friends wedding. I gotta look better than the bride(don't worry I already told the bride that this was my intention). So I am cutting my calories and working out 4-5 times a week I cant wait this will be so fun and rewarding. I will put up my weight and measurements once I get to a weight that I'm not too embarrassed to share. Also that means more updates on here!!

The pain of change

In most cases I hate change. Change is inevitable but that does not mean that I have to accept it. Why can't people and situations stay the same? They say if you want to accomplish more and to grow you must change. I want to accomplish more I want to grow; however, I rather those things come easy without change.
I stress easily this usually occurs when something is changing. I over eat when stressed which comes from the change. Change is making me fat. Change is stressing me out.
I decided today that I am going to make  a change and that change is me not freaking out when something changes. Lets see how long this will last. As I grow near the age of 30 I have to (at some point) "grow up". As of right now despite having a full-time job and paying bills I continue to be very childlike. This too will have to change.
The time has come to CHANGE.

The joys of change

Well I am well on my way at my new job. I will be selling cell phones. I am excited and nervous. But I have been praying and I know that God gave me this position for a reason.

Weight loss is at a stand still which is driving me crazy. I have been flirting with 5 pounds going up and down the entire month. It maybe because of the changes in my life as of late but I have not given up yet. I miss soda all the time!! Every time I see a Sonic cup I crave vanilla cream Dr. Pepper's and cherry vanilla root beers. But I will shy away.

april update

Hey Hey Hey!!! Today is going to be a great day! I am finally getting the lawn mower fixed and my lawn mowed.

Weight: I lost a total of 8 pounds last month; 17 pounds left to go and I will have lost 50 pounds for the year!!  Furthermore, a bunch of other wonderful things are happening this year.

Switching jobs: I am finally leaving Wal*Mart after almost 2 years. I left because I believe that its time to move on and achieve something better in my life. I would have liked to promote but that did not seem to be in the cards for me anytime soon so I found another place and will be starting there shortly.

Lets chat about books:  I read Hunger Games and it was amazing! I loved it; then I followed it up by watching the movie with a friend from work and the movie was great too. There is some inner dialoge  that would have been great if it was added into the movie; however,  that would have made the movie three hours long and with those horrible movie theatre seats I don't know if my posture could take much more.

quick update

Well  March is here and alot has happened but I like to dwell on the negative so that is where I will put my focus. First off I am a klutz and I proved it by spilling tea on my computer again. Is this the second time? No, its the 3rd time. My keys are sticky and its kind of hard to type but at least I did not murder the poor Dell like I did its predecessor.
I am still holding strong on this diet thing. I lost around 20 pounds in January and in February a mere 5 pounds  was lost. However, in the month of March I will step up my game by adding walking a few miles on my days off. I had my first walk on the 5th and the second on the 6th and despite not have moved in many moons I am not terribly sore from it. This may also be because I doubt if I walked over 5 miles on either day.
Kind of depressed lately I wont go into it on here but I know it will get better in time. I need to stay focused and start taking care of me for awhile and stop worrying about others I guess. But its hard not to care; very very hard. Its my fault mostly because I am very judgemental and critical of others. That is a trait that I need to work on.
I hope your year is going well. Despite a few problem areas I am having a good year and looking for better days in the future. I am very much looking forward to seeing if I can make my weight loss goal of 50 pounds gone by the end of July.

Keep me in your prayers and I will keep you in mine.

random

Hey guys!!! Long time no blog.Just dropping in to give you an update about Lil ol' me. I am doing great on the diet; I have lost 23 pounds as of the first of this month. I was able to accomplish this with no exercise, cutting back on the sweets and no soda; Other than that I eat about the same. Also I have finished the book The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and adored it. He is by far one of the best young adult authors out there. Another awesome thing is Pinterest a new website I was introduced to and fell in love with. It has so much to offer in DIY and cooking as well as quotes and apparel ideas. I suggest you check it out. Lastly, I have started to crochet a blanket, hopefully it will be done by the end of the year but I make no promises.

birthday time!

Tomorrow is my birthday!! I will be 24 years old. Dang I feel so old. I have lots to accomplish this year and can't wait to get started. First off I would love to get well. I have had this flu thing for nearly the whole month of January. Second, I gotta lose weight and so far I think I have lost something. However, I have been too afraid to read the scale so I will check on that the 1st of February. Also I received my book THE FAULT IN OUR STARS by John Green. I have been waiting for this book for so long and now I barely have time to read it.  Well until next time love peace and cheese :D

day 16

This will be a short blog but at least it will keep you updated on my diet or lack there of. I have yet to drink any soda and have still been a trooper when it comes to portion size. However, I have been sick for over a week now. I have this lovely cold/flu thing that has been sweeping the county. So, I have been eating odd things like for dinner all I had was grapes and water then had a sandwich at 11pm. Ughh oh well I keep telling myself I will eat normal once I get better. I hope that is sooner than later. How are your resolution's? Are you still at it after 15 days? Take care :D

diet day 2

Well I'm kinda on a diet. I say kinda because I am taking it slow this time around in hopes that it will yield more results. Despite the ever so delicious McDonald's breakfast that I was greeted with this morning I held my ground and resisted. Its still in the fridge so pray people pray (hahaha). Anyway let me tell you about my plan! I am giving up soda and only eat fast food once a week. I plan to add more fruits and veggies as well. Also I would like to cut out alot of sweets.
So far I am having horrible with drawls from the lack of caffeine. I feel like a crack fiend because my head is splitting in pain and all I want is just one more caffeine filled liquid taste of a Dr. Pepper. But I will resist it because it would be sad to give up this early in the game. I am still eating alot tho but at least all my calories aren't wasted on drinks.
Do you have a new years resolution?

2011

What a crazy year it has been! I finished school worked 2 jobs got a promotion lost some friends gained some friends learned to crochet and changed my look (had contacts wow did those suck and my hair; well it never stays the same lol). This year was calm to say the least in comparison to my past;  not to say it was not good, it was fine just not anything special; but would I do it all over again the same way? No of course not and anyone that says that is lying. Even the smallest detail could bring a better life. Why would you not want to make a bad day better?
I remember my last day at my old job I worked til 3am got up at 7am went to return my uniform then went for training at my new position (had to be there 9 to 5). It was a horrible day and night. I was so sick from running around so much that day; but, I was determined to do it all. Well, at the end of the day I threw up on the side of the road twice. I tell you this because this is a day I would change. Yes, its minimal but if that did not happen at least I would have had one more great day.
This new year I pray for a magnificent 365 days. One that brings happiness and change. I want to use my degree and take more pictures  and I want to go on a trip. There is so much to do and only a little time to do it.
Goodbye 2011 you challenged me and gave me so much  and I won't see you next year but "thanks for the memories even though they weren't so great" -fall out boy "thanks for the memories"

rain and lily

Not a huge fan of rain. It smells good and sounds pretty but I really don't like it to touch me. Anyways,  the past two days of rain I have hidden in my house curled up with my pink laptop listening to Lily Allen. I love her, she is a great singer from England. And just in case you were wondering NO she sounds nothing like Adele. I like Adele too but she is all lovey dovey when she sings. Lily is blunt and honest and I think its great she has songs were she is making fun of creepers(knock 'em out) and how society has declined from materialism (fear). Here are a few songs of her's that I enjoy. Check them out and let me know what you think.

Adulthood

I freaking hate being an adult. Why do children want to grow up so fast when all they have to look forward to is debit and responsibility. Maybe its just me but  I do not find it fun to have to plan to pay bills and go to work. Work is not better than school. Yes, you get a paycheck for spending your day there but you are not acquiring knowledge like before; and, you do not get to socialize with all your peers. Instead, many end up doing more work then ever for something they are overqualified for and have to deal with rude customers and people that they cannot roll their eyes at and easily avoid like we did back in school.

There is a chance that I am ranting about this because I am just now starting to pay back my student loans. Now in a perfect world when one gets out of college they are set to start a amazing job that grants them just enough to live comfortably. However, this is not a perfect world. I for one have a degree in business; ( hold your applause j/k) yet I am not in the business field. I am able to make ends met but I want that comfortable aspect of it. How do we get to that comfortable part you may ask... I do not know. But I aim to get there with the Lords help because I know I cannot do it on my own.

Next year is a time for growth and change! and I will be after everything that I deserve and everything that I desire. I will discover my dreams in life and make them a reality. I hope that all my readers do the same and start dreaming BIG .

bored!

I am a proud graduate!!! However, without homework and studying I have so much free time on my hands. Instead of reading (which I love) I have come to find that my new thing is crochet. I have been spending every lunch period crocheting scarves and hats. And when I get off work I click away at Youtube videos while making stitches. Sadly, I have ran out of yarn despite buying 3 bundles since last Wednesday (its Sunday) thus I am back on my blog with another list.

Things I do when I am bored:
  1. Crochet
  2. Youtube
  3. Eat
  4. Sleep
  5. Shop
  6. Facebook stalk (Don't judge me)
  7. Dance

cooking

I have got to learn how to cook before I burn my house down! Well, I attempted to fry catfish today and it was semi successful. I have yet to get a tummy ache and the house is still standing. However, the amount of smoke that I created is just ridiculous. It has been 2 hours and my eyes are still stinging! Nevertheless little dreamers I can still see the keyboard in order to write this tale to you.
My eyes were hurting so bad that I left my house with the food still cooking just to get some air. I opened every window in the house in hopes to get the smell of fried yummy goodness out despite that being the opposite of what I normally do.
I would love to learn to how to cook and do all of those "womanly" things sadly its way harder than I anticipated. I am also learning to crochet and knit so I will give updates and maybe post a few pictures of the projects that I am working on.
Well until next time, Laters :)

weather

Hello my little dreamers! How are you today? I am swell!  I just wanted to stop by and tell you  a little about the weather. The weather where I am from is stupid. Yes, I said stupid, I find no need to put it in any better of a term. It is warm one day and frigid the next. But since I have lived in this type of fluctuating weather for so long I have become accustomed to it. Today it was sunny in the morning and by 2 pm it was dark and cold. This of course brought upon mass hysteria in my home town. A blizzard is upon us!!! its going to have snow and ice and rain and famine! We must crowd the stores for supplies! Yes, this indeed happens each time that it so much as drizzles. Maybe I should be more cautious like my peers but frankly I do not see the point in freaking out over the weather unless it is of a grand scale for example, a hurricane or tornado. But a mere slush? nah I rather not freak out over it until I have to dig my car out of my driveway.
Talk to you later :)

driving

I saw a video on youtube entitled "what girls do in the car" by jennamarbles here is the link if you would like to check it out:

 http://www.youtube.com/watchv=0i_5YBnQdac&feature=channel_video_title

I love this girl! She is so funny and if I too were a master degree holding dancer and video blogger I would love to carry myself as graceful as she does. Anyways getting to the subject I hate driving! I dont really even like cars or should I say the upkeep of cars. I suck at direction and get easily distracted by the radio. I can recount the time I almost flipped my car over after reaching for a cd that fell in my car.  Also I can remember getting lost on the way home when  I was forced to go to some work meeting that was 3 hours away yet took me about 5 hours to get back because I do not know street names nor care to learn which way is north or south. Is it a girl thing? Is it a me thing? I dont know! Its just a mess in my book. Now despite my little anecdotes I am a "good driver"  I never have been pulled over and was only in one accident (I will get into that story later because it may tarnish my earlier statement of being a "good driver"). Nevertheless driving is not really my cup of tea. So how are your driving skills? Are you the type that like to let your hair blow in the wind and go on road trips letting the radio blast as you driving down the winding road? Let me know in the comments and i will talk to you next time :)
